About
Sylvia Akingbade, PsyD, LPC
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science and eventually a full-time job. Since 2014, I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives.

I opened the doors to my practice in 2020 to clients in the greater HOUSTON and KATY area — offering them a wide range of counseling and mental health services to guide them through life’s challenges and most trying times.

My approach combines cognitive behavior therapy and person-centered therapy. With cognitive behavior therapy, the process involves a collaboration between you and me. I truly care for all of my clients and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek.
With person-centered therapy, I focus on my clients and put them first, as a person, not their condition, which sets the tone for the sessions. The client is at the center of the services and treated as a person first, so I tailor to their needs and unique circumstances.
